Interior design can be so many things. It is fun and collaborative, an exploration into what you love and what makes you happy. I think most of us have a sense, however, that design is also so much more. It's about who you are and how you want to live your life. It's about making your genuine self and your aspirational self co-exist in a balanced way. The fun stuff and the serious stuff is not mutually exclusive.
I began this blog as a way to flesh out these ideas. There are books I want to read and ideas I want to explore that, of course, I never feel I have enough time for. This blog is a way to make time and to find out whether many of my suspicions about design really do hold true. I want to simultaneously address the trivial (how does one execute a successful gallery wall?) as well as the meaningful (how can changing your home change your life?).
At a time when there are seemingly infinite amounts of blogs and content on the internet, it is my hope that this tiny piece of it can be something a little different and, most importantly, something of value.
