Feng Shui | Yin and Yang

Feng Shui | Yin and Yang

One of the most basic tenets of Feng Shui is the Yin and Yang. In order to have a balanced, full life, we must embrace opposites. We need to have a life of passion, but also rest. A life of creativity, but also discipline.

In Feng Shui this often plays out with the five elements: metal, wood, fire, earth, and water. Each of these represents a facet of life that is to be cultivated, yet none should dominate any of the others. (For more explanation of each element, read here.) When these elements are used properly in a household, balancing one another and balancing our lives, a proper yin/yang balance is achieved.
