Million Dollar Decorating | M Interiors

Million Dollar Decorating | M Interiors

I'm feeling newly inspired after listening to a couple episodes of the Million Dollar Decorating podcast. I've known of this podcast, but have somehow never given it a listen (truth be told, it might have been my subconscious disliking the word 'decorator'), but they have some great interviews of designers telling their personal stories, some of the challenges they've faced, and advice they would give others.

The first episode I listened to is of M Interiors, based of San Antonio, TX. Since San Antonio is my hometown, I automatically knew I would be a fan of this designer. When asked what advice principal Melissa Morgan would have for people listening to the podcast, she responded,

"Any room looks better instantly with a great plant or flowers or anything green or anything living. If you look at any picture at any magazine or any design book... I can almost guarantee that there's always some sort of tree or plant or beautiful flowers."

Morgan is true to her word. Below are some examples of her interiors, always accented with that bit of green.

At the end of every episode, Swan also asks guest one book that they think should be on every designers bookshelf. There is a section of the website of all the books guests have recommended. I am not exaggerating when I say just the possibility of delving into the books on this list makes my heart go pitter-patter.
